YEAR 7 students at Selwood Academy were thrilled to welcome local author Catherine Bruton last month as part of the Gothic literature unit of work.
The author of a range of young adult books such as ‘Another Twist in the Tale’ (a follow up to ‘Oliver Twist’) and ‘No Ballet Shoes in Syria’ (which follows a young Syrian refugee), Catherine takes her inspiration from a range of literary and real-world sources.
During the event, Catherine spoke to students about her life as an author and treated the students to a sneak peak of her latest novel ‘Following Frankenstein’ (due to be published in early October) as well as an opportunity to purchase early.
