GOODBODY Botanicals, based in Beckington, were featured on BBC’s Countryfile last month explaining the CBD industry.
Goodbody Botanicals, a rebrand of George Botanicals, manufactures and processes hemp-based products containing CBD on its farm in Beckington.
They were featured in a segment, hosted by Charlotte Smith on BBC’s Countryfile on Sunday 17th November introducing CBD and the industry behind it.
George Thomas, MD of Goodbody Botanicals said, “We were delighted to talk to Countryfile recently about Goodbody Botanicals CBD. We have legally been growing industrial hemp for the last two years at our farm in Somerset, however current legislation doesn’t allow us to extract CBD from our hemp crop – although this could change in the future.
“Our parent company Sativa Group Plc has recently been granted a Home Office licence, which allows them to also grow medicinal cannabis for research at King’s College in London. In addition to the Home Office research facility and our manufacturing capabilities, we also have a laboratory on site which allows us to test CBD products– this ensures that all Goodbody Botanicals products comply with current UK legislation.”
