A Frome athlete has been crowned British and English National Champion in the sprint distance triathlon in the 40 to 44-year-old age group.
Paul Ryman, a seasoned triathlete with nearly 20 years of racing experience, competed on 8th June in the British and English National Championships at Blenheim Palace.

The event consisted of a 750m open water swim, a 20km bike ride and a 5.5km run. Paul crossed the finish line first in his age group, securing both the English and British national titles for 2025.
“Blenheim is a stunning venue – racing in the beautiful grounds surrounding the palace is something truly special,” said Paul, who now holds his second British title.
“This race was my main focus for 2025 and I am absolutely thrilled to have achieved my goal.”
Paul, who is also a triathlon coach and personal trainer, previously earned the title of Triathlon Sprint World Champion in 2019 in the 35-39 age group in the World Triathlon Age-Group Championships in Lausanne, Switzerland.
