Members of a gym in Frome have recently raised over £3,000 for two local charities by completing 33 workouts in just 24 hours.
The funds will go towards charities We Hear You (WHY) and Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY). Both charities have supported members of the Frome Town CrossFit community during some of the toughest times of their lives, and the event was a way to give something back.
Supporters visited the gym at Commerce Park throughout the challenge, enjoying a cake sale that kept energy levels high and a raffle packed with prizes donated by local businesses.
Thanks to the generosity of the local community, the fundraising total reached £3,015.20, a sum that will be split equally between the two charities.
Head coach and owner of Frome Town CrossFit, Russ, said, “We’re blown away by the support. Every workout was tough, but knowing why we were doing it kept us all going. We want to thank everyone who donated, baked cakes, bought raffle tickets and cheered us on. It really shows what Frome can achieve together.”
