A Frome plumber and heat engineer has been nominated for a national award and now he needs the help of the local community so he can be crowned Heating Installer of 2023.
Kye Fennell, who created KF Plumbing, Heating and Tiling three years ago, was nominated for the Heating Installer Awards after he impressed the judges of the competition when he installed an air source heat pump into a property in Bath.
The Heating Installer Awards runs annually to create a positive talking point in the industry, and it works to promote the excellent customer service delivered by heating installers which can often go unrecognised.
Kye’s work, alongside ten others, was picked out of thousands of entries across the country and he now needs the backing of the local community in order to be crowned the overall winner.
“I was so surprised that I got into the last ten in the country,” Kye said. “There were thousands of entries and I honestly thought I wouldn’t hear anything back from it. It has been really nice to be recognised for something that I’m so passionate about, and something that I put a lot of time and effort into. I always try to make every job better than the last one.
“As soon as I left school at Frome College I went into a plumbing apprenticeship with a local plumber, Andy Cox, at AMC Heating. Following this I then went to Trowbridge College for four years to improve my knowledge. I’ve also worked for Simon Miller from SDM Plumbing and Darren Pomeroy from HPT Technology – I’ve learned so much from all of them and I’m grateful for them giving me the opportunity to learn when I was so young.”
