The Mayor of Frome, Dickon Moore, is to hold a fundraising evening of entertainment based around ‘Frome films’.
The evening will include short films that have been made in Frome and those that have been made by local videographers and students. Some of the films shown will be about events in the town, such as The Cobble Wobble and The 2013 Christmas Extravaganza. Representatives from organisations such as The Bicycle Academy and Openstorytellers will introduce the work that they do in the town before showing their films.
Dickon said, “Film is a fantastic way to showcase Frome and the things that happen here. There are some great films that have been made that should be a bit of fun to see while also raising funds for local charities.”
All proceeds from the event will go towards the Mayor’s local charities: Friends of the River Frome, Openstorytellers and FROGS. The event will take place at The Merlin Theatre on Sunday 23rd March, and will start at 6.00pm. Do you have a Frome film that you’d like to show? There may still be space for it to be shown, please email mayor offrome@gmail.com.
