FROME Medical Practice has said that it will be offering Covid booster vaccines to its housebound, immunocompromised, and over 65 patients.
Patients under 65 are being encouraged to book their jabs via the national booking service.
The practice reports, “Following the government announcement on Friday 10th December, that there will be a temporary relaxation of some of the GP contractual requirements in order to free up time to support the Covid Vaccine Booster programme, Frome Medical Practice will be offering some Covid vaccine appointments for some of their most vulnerable patients.
“Housebound patients – any housebound patients who have not yet received their booster vaccine will be contacted in the next few days and the practice will be doing their best to offer
you a visit before 24th December.
“Immunocompromised patients – we will be offering the third vaccination to any immunocompromised patients registered at the practice. Appointments will be available on Saturday 18th December and we will be in touch with these patients over the next few days to invite them to attend for their vaccination.
“Over 65s – if you are 65 and over, are registered at Frome Medical Practice and still require a booster vaccine, please call the practice on 01373 301301 after 2pm from Monday 13th December, but before Thursday 16th December, to book your appointment.
“We hope that our phone lines will be less busy by 2pm, but we continue to experience a high volume of calls at this time and ask for your patience if you are held in a queue.
“Under 65s – we are unable to offer Covid vaccine appointments to our patients who are under 65 at the current time. If you are in this group of patients, please book your appoint- ment via the national booking service – click here for more details www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/coronavirus-booster-vaccine/
