The Merlin Theatre’s production of ‘The Producers’ on 14th-19th March at 7.45pm, features some of Frome’s finest musical theatre actors.
The cast includes Leonie Macaslin, recently seen in the Merlin Studio with her beautiful heart wrenching performance as Cathy in ‘The Last Five Years’.
Leonie has been performing since a very young age and continued her professional training at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, London.
Since graduating, Leonie has been fortunate enough to play Arminy Livermore in ‘Carousel’ at The Landor Theatre in London, Gertie Gumdrops in a touring production of ‘rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer’, sing in the choirs for the BBC Proms, Olivier Awards and ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ winner Jai Mcdowell, and perform locally in many musical productions, winning awards for her performances and rich singing voice.
She is currently very busy, as not only is she performing as the blonde siren Ulla, the role Uma Thurman made famous in the 2005 film, but she is rehearsing for ‘Annie’ with TAOS Musical Theatre playing the part of Grace. Leonie is clearly enjoying stretching herself as she plays two such contrasting characters!
‘The Producers’ is a hilarious musical comedy winning a record-breaking 12 Tony Awards and three Olivier Awards. It has taken Broadway and the West End by storm, and is now about to do the same here as it makes its musical debut in Frome!
Featuring hysterical songs such the all-time classic ‘Springtime For Hitler’, you are guaranteed a feel good fun night out.
