A LOCAL woman has landed a modelling contract with an international clothing company after entering an online competition.
25-year-old Kaytee Symes, who works at Absolutely Fabulous in Frome, will be the new face of Yours, an online plus-size clothing brand.
Kaytee was shocked to discover she had been shortlisted in an online competition run by the brand and, after doing a photoshoot with the other entrants, she was offered a contract to model Yours’ autumn/winter range.
Kaytee said, “I still can’t believe it; this plus sized clothing brand is world famous and now it wants my face! I’m flattered to say the least. I entered the #faceofyours competition alongside hundreds of other girls and models, thinking they wouldn’t even look twice at me.
“Then people left amazing comments saying I was ‘slaying it’ and how ‘fierce’ I was, asking if I was a professional model. I just keep watching Britain’s Next Top Model on repeat!”
Kaytee also won a beauty pageant at Frome Tattoo Convention earlier this year.
“I always wanted to model,” she said. “People said I had a nice face but I was always too short and too overweight. I’m just your average girl next door, just with more curves and more tattoos!
“I do not promote an unhealthy lifestyle or obesity at all. I regularly play roller derby for Bath and like to keep fit; I am a big girl and always have been. I think beauty comes in all shapes and sizes.
“Dreams really do come true for us small town gals!”
