Frome Community Lottery has again been able to give out grants totalling more than £5,000 at their annual Grant Presentation Evening on 14th May.
Organisations who benefited this year were Frome Bowling Club, Wesley Church, Frome Festival, Better Together Frome, Positive Action on Cancer, Frome Selwood Tennis Club, Frome Day Centre, Merlin Theatre, Frome Contact Centre, Edventure, Foreground and Frome Museum. This brings the total of organisations helped to about 70 since the Lottery started in the year 2000.
Chair of the Trustees, Sue Worringham said, “It is great to see that we are able to support so many different projects aimed at improving facilities for the people of Frome and the local area. This has only been possible thanks to the continued support of the many local people who regularly play the Frome Community Lottery.
“It would be great if we were able to offer more to the many organisations who apply to us. To do this we need more people prepared to make a commitment to the future of Frome by joining the Lottery.”
Participants spend £1 a week with the chance of winning cash prizes of up to £25,000. Of this 50% is available to support community groups in the Frome area. Joining forms are available from the library or on the Trust’s website www.fromecommunity trust.btck.co.uk. or by calling Sue on 01373 462431.
