A VISIT was made by David Warburton MP to Frome College to meet principal, Emma Reynolds, and hear about her plans for the school in her new role, on Friday 3rd November.
Ms Reynolds escorted the MP for Somerton & Frome around the campus to show him the impressive teaching and learning which goes on at the college.
The MP’s detailed tour of the campus included a visit to the sixth form centre and an introduction to the ‘Next Steps’ apprenticeship scheme. He also met members of a local community group who regularly use the college’s art facilities, as part of the Somerset Schools & Learning Programme.
During the visit, David Warburton commented on the excellent improvements over the past few years which are a great foundation for the future of Frome College and the students who attend. Ms Reynolds highlighted the importance of maintaining a broad, creative and inclusive curriculum to serve our community. She also explained the importance of keeping the students and the site safe for everyone in the college community, and discussed proposals to expand and improve the dining facilities at the school.
David Warbuton said, “It was delightful to meet Ms Reynolds at Frome College, offer my congratulations on her appointment and hear all about her many plans and her vision for the future. I’m delighted that Emma is keen to build on the college’s success and continue to make strides in improving not only the facilities, but also the ethos which is so key to the culture of Frome College.
“I was particularly interested to hear Emma’s ideas about raising student ambition, and her plans to promote the level of drive and motivation among the students, so that they can take full advantage of the wonderful opportunities afforded to them by this exceptional school. I am certainly keen to support Emma, and I look forward to keeping in touch as Frome College continues to thrive under her leadership.”
Frome College says, “We hope David will be visiting again soon to build strong links, and continue working together for the benefit of the wider community.”
