Multi award-winning songwriter Guy Chambers will be performing a special concert on Friday 4th July as part of Frome Festival.
Guy Chambers is one of the UK’s most successful living songwriters, having famously worked with Robbie Williams, co-writing iconic hits including Angels, Millennium, Feel, Let Me Entertain You and Rock DJ.
Other artists Guy Chambers has worked with include Tina Turner, Kylie Minogue, Scissor Sisters, Diana Ross, Tom Jones, James Blunt, Rufus Wainwright and Mark Ronson.
An Evening with Guy Chambers at the Frome Festival includes piano interpretations not only of his many hits but also of his original material and the anecdotes and stories behind them, giving an insight into his career and creative processes.
He will also share hilarious anecdotes spanning his early years as a sideman in Aztec Camera, The Waterboys, World Party, and his own band, The Lemon Trees.
A member of the audience will also have the chance to be brought on stage to write a song on the spot with him.
Director of the Frome Festival Adam Laughton said, “Frome Festival is a celebration of our local arts scene and shows like this makes it clear that the scene is thriving in spite of turbulent economic headwinds. It’ll be one of well over 250 events taking place in July, so Frome Festival goers will be spoilt for choice.”
Other projects Guy Chambers has worked on include composing for film and theatre, including The Boy in the Dress for the RSC and the 2021 Sky Original film A Christmas No.1.
Guy Chambers also released his first piano album in May 2019, entitled ‘Go Gentle into the Light, that features a selection of solo interpretations of his many hits.
