NCT Frome and District branch are running a Nearly New Sale at the Cheese and Grain on Saturday 16th July from 10am-12 noon.
A wide range of children’s clothing, toys, books and equipment will be on offer at bargain prices.
Nearly New Sale coordinator and local mum Emma Moxon said, “We get great feedback from local parents about how well-organised they are and how easy it is to find what you’re looking for. All the items are grouped into categories and age groups and the sale is run by NCT volunteers, rather than each seller having their own table. This makes it much easier to find what you’re looking for.”
Emma is standing down soon after four years in the role, so the branch is looking for someone to take over. The group says, “It’s a great role for boosting your CV and you’ll learn transferable skills in event and people management. Anyone interested can find out more by emailing nns.frome@nct.org.uk.
“Frome NCT would like to say a huge thank you to Emma for all her hard work over the years, which have made our sales such a big success. Sellers keep 70% of the sale price of their goods while NCT use the remaining 30% to fund local and national campaigns and events to improve the lives of new parents from pregnancy through to age two, the ‘first 1000 days.’
“This can be anything from running toddler groups and training breastfeeding peer supporters to lobbying Parliament for improved working rights for parents.
“Anyone wishing to register as a seller for the next sale can sign up at If you volunteer to help on the day, you pay a lower rate of commission and your £5 seller fee is refunded. Volunteers also have the opportunity to shop before the doors open to the public.
“The sale starts at 10am and entry costs £1. Card-carrying NCT members and pregnant women are admitted at 9.45. Due to space in the hall, it’s not possible to bring in prams or pushchairs, but there’s a buggy park at the Cheese and Grain for anyone attending the sale.”
