Silk Mill Studios and Gallery has submitted a planning application to revamp its courtyard for public events.
The plans include a new dedicated bar for the courtyard. Director of the Silk Mill, Damon Moore, told Frome Times, “At the Silk Mill we have been looking at ways to improve the courtyard for public events.
“Following a complete refurbishment of the kitchen, we are planning to upgrade our courtyard facilities over the next few months, adding a dedicated bar and revised toilet arrangements, with a new barrel-roofed structure taking inspiration from the brick archways which are a feature of this location.
“The gallery entrance will also benefit with a new contemporary glass-walled and riven stone vestibule to keep out the wind and weather. A re-instatement of the rear loading bay will also be included to serve as a new emergency access platform.”
