President of Radstock Co-operative Society, George Donkin, presented a cheque for £1,100 to Mary Taylor, director, Positive Action on Cancer on Tuesday 5th August.
Radstock Co-op shareholders, at their annual general meeting in June 2014, selected PAC as one of two main charities to support for year.
PAC is a charitable organisation which provides free, professional counselling to anyone affected or bereaved by cancer or other life threatening illness. This includes any family, friends and carers as well as patients.
The counsellors at PAC are professionally trained, experienced and adhere to the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or alternative professional body. For more information on PAC you can visit their website www.positive actiononcancer.co.uk
Vicki Przytocki, head of HR and communications said, “As a co-operative, we are owned by our members and it’s great that members have an input with regard to which local causes and community projects are selected to receive financial support.
“Our Frome store has supported PAC in the past and we are delighted that they have been nominated as ‘one of the charities of the year’. We hope to be able to offer additional support and assist with raising awareness of PAC in the coming year.”
Mary Taylor said, “It is wonderful to receive local support from a local organisation, this funding will enable us to deliver more counselling sessions to the many individuals who need our help.”
