BBC’s Question Time is coming to the Merlin Theatre later this month.
The show was originally planned to be broadcast live from Frome at the end of March, but was postponed after producers decided to move the show to Belfast, Northern Ireland, to coincide with what was meant to be the date for Britain to leave the European Union.
Question Time will now be broadcast from the Merlin Theatre on Thursday 23rd May. This will be Question Time’s first visit to Frome.
As originally planned, Frome College students have been invited to observe the set up and rehearsal process and take part in a Q&A with the show’s director prior to the broadcast.
Hailed as the BBC’s flagship political show and known for its topical debates, Question Time invites guests from the world of politics and the media to answer questions posed by members of the public. The show is hosted by Fiona Bruce, who took over from David Dimbleby in December last year when he left the show after 24 years.
A spokesperson for Question Time said, “We are really keen to encourage people in Frome and the surrounding area to apply to be part of the audience.
“You can apply via the website: bbc.co.uk/questiontime or by phone: 0330 123 9988.”
Question Time audience members will be requested to come up with two questions to be considered for the programme.
