GARY Kearley co-author of the highly successful ‘Secret Frome’ has just published his first novel, ‘Fear Nothing But God’, set during the Monmouth Rebellion of 1685.
The rebellion was centred on the South-West of England and it is estimated that up to a quarter of all able-bodied men in the Frome area came forward to join the Duke of Monmouth in his attempt to take the English throne from his uncle, James II.
The part that the town of Frome played in the rebellion and the battle that took place at nearby Norton St Phillip are both fully described in this new novel.
The 450 page book is priced at £12.95 and is available direct from the author, with free local delivery (see e-mail address below) or by visiting Hunting Raven bookshop in Cheap Street.
Gary delivered two well received presentations on the Monmouth Rebellion during the Frome Festival in July and any local organisation interested in booking an illustrated talk on the subject should contact him at the same address.
