THE new season will see some changes for Frome’s rugby teams as the leagues have been restructured.
The club reports, “The 2022/2023 season will see a change to how rugby is structured in the adult male game.
“These positive changes will deliver a revised structure, rebranding and new Cup competition.
“These are the most significant changes made to the competition structure in 30 years and are designed following feedback from clubs and players, responding to their needs and changes in society.
“This will see the Frome RFC 1st XV move to Regional 2 Severn, as they remain at level 6. The 2nd XV, having gained promotion to Counties 1 Southern South will compete at level 7 for the first time, whilst the 3rd XV move to Counties 4 Somerset North.”
Frome RFC Fixture Secretary, Roger Gilson said, “It’s good to finally see the release of the new league structures, it will certainly go some way to assist our players and coaching staff in preparation for the coming season. We look forward to seeing the release of the fixtures, which are due to be released mid-June”.
