FROME Youth Choir is hoping to welcome lots of new members this year after being taken over by new tutors looking to boost the group of young singers.
Frome Youth Choir is a group for young people aged 6-18 which has been running for 30 years. It is a non-profit making group run by Jo Richards and Steph Collishaw, who have been appointed this year to develop the choir and help secure its future – they have approximately 40 years musical teaching and performance experience between them.
Steph says, “It is an unauditioned choir and aims to help young singers in Frome and the surrounding area to develop singing/choral skills, perform, meet together and have fun.
“We are relaunching the choir this month with a new logo and lots of exciting music to inspire and engage our young choir members. We hope to welcome lots of new members as well as existing members of the choir. Please help us spread the word to any young people who may be interested.”
Frome Youth Choir meets on Thursdays at The Steiner Academy on Park Road from 5.30pm to 6.45pm starting this Thursday, 22nd September.
The first trial session for new members is free and thereafter the cost is £4 per week. For more information or to register your child’s interest, email fromeyouth choir@btinternet.com.
