Fair Frome’s Community Pantry currently has spaces and with the festive period upon us, the team says that now is a good time to join and help stretch your budget further.
The Community Pantry runs out of the Fair Frome Elliot building at the Frome Town Hall once a week on Tuesday afternoons. This is a members-only service, with members signing up for six months.
Households can complete the registration themselves online for free. Then they will receive a text from Pantry staff with a time to come along and do your shop. A shop costs just £3 or £5 a week, cash or card on the day, allowing members to choose how much they want to spend each week, giving people flexibility and choice.
Fair Frome assistant coordinator Rebecca Harrison, who leads the project, said, “As well as having long-life food items like soups and cereals, we have fridge and freezer items like cheese and pizzas, toiletries, and we now have an exciting range of festive items. A selection of fresh produce is also available and we stock items that are Free Frome too.
“Fair Frome welcomes new applications at any time and looks forward to meeting new members soon.”
Fair Frome is a local charity serving the BA11 area, delivering hands-on projects to alleviate the effects of poverty on our residents. These projects include the food bank, furniture bank, Food at 5 Community Meals, school holiday lunches, baby basics bank, and monthly family Sunday lunches.
