THE Pod is excited to announce the launch of their new monthly open access ‘Pod Pop Disco’.
The local charity says, “Pod Plus members have been asking for a regular opportunity to dance and let their hair down with friends, and the name was chosen by the group after much debate! Each disco will be different with guest DJs, entertainment, or Silent Disco options.
“This accessible disco is open to any over 16s with additional needs. It is a chance for people from other clubs, organisations, or anyone in the community to meet new friends, make social connections and have a good night out dancing and listening to music.
“The first Pod Pop Disco is being held at the Masonic Hall, North Parade in Frome on Tuesday 17th May from 6.30-8.30pm.
“Entrance is on the door and will be £6 for non-members and £5 for Pod members. All parent carers or support staff are free. There will be a café serving drinks and snacks. The venue is accessible, but please contact The Pod if you need wheelchair access so the team can explain access arrangements. Support staff will be on hand during the evening for attendees who do not require a carer to stay.”
Co-charity manager at The Pod, Becky Bird, said, “We are hoping that this becomes a regular part of the social calendar for Frome and can blend into the many opportunities and choices for our members and the wider community. This has been at the top of the wish list for most Pod Plus members and it is great to be able to open the doors and share the fun.”
The following Pod Pop Disco will be at the same venue on Tuesday 14th June 6.30-8.30pm. If you would like more information on the Pod Pop Disco, please contact the team by emailing: admin@thepodcharity.org.uk or by telephone on 07592 501022.
