THE Share shop has a new space in its premises available for organisations, groups and individuals to hold talks and workshops about reuse, repair and recycle.
The new space is also an area for the community to sit and share ideas about green innovation and the supporting the climate.
Marketing and operations manager Jess said, “We have cleared the downstairs space ready for those who want to use it to offer workshops, talks and sessions and for people to teach others how to use things such as power tools or how to repair their clothes!
“We have also created a new space for the public to relax in on sofas. This is a space for idea sharing, innovation and creative thinking. We’re hoping to get a board where people can put their ideas onto or a jar where they can put their ideas in, a bit like ‘penny for your thoughts’.”
The first workshop about clothing repair, will run on Saturday 28th January and is a collaboration between Edventure’s Future Shed and Everyone Needs Pockets reuse network.
Along with this new space and workshop offering, Share has changed its opening hours to better suit families and those who work. The opening hours are: Monday: 8.30 to 11am and 3.30pm to 6pm; Tuesday: 8.30am to 11am; Wednesday: Closed; Thursday: 3.30pm to 6pm; Friday: 8.30am to 11am and 3.30pm to 6pm; Saturday: 8.30am to 11am; Sunday: Closed.
Based on The Bridge in Frome town centre, Share is a ‘library of things’, where people can borrow and return items rather than buying new ones. It aims to help people save money and help the community reduce carbon footprints supporting the environment.
