LOCAL artist Guy Watts, who specialises in pen and ink prints, has set up a new pop-up shop in the heart of Frome that features pieces from Guy’s 30-year-long career.
The shop can be found on Cheap Street and it will be open every Wednesday from 11am to 4.30pm or by appointment.
“Most of my clients know my work as finely detailed pen and ink black and white drawings, depicting strange landscapes, abstract forms and fantasy style imaginary pictures,” Guy explained.
“This is a very exciting time for me to allow the public to easily see my work and move away from online sales which can of course be tricky with so many online shops to choose from. I’m also happy to fill an empty space and become another independent trader right in the heart of Frome.
“I spotted an exciting opportunity about a month after the previous tenants of Ramshack hairdressers moved to Jersey. My close friend, whom I always knew as Marsaili Mackenzie, sadly passed away in January and her daughter took on the shop. So, a couple of conversations later and a set of keys in my hand, I’m fortunate enough to have a comprehensive display of my work spanning the last 30 years.”
