BUS operator First have announced it will re-route all its 267 seven-day services via Sainsbury’s Frome when the new 267 timetable is introduced on Sunday 3rd September.
“This is very good news for so many shoppers, especially older shoppers, who for a number of years have been calling for an evening and weekend bus service to Sainsbury’s. First has listened and I’m delighted they have taken action,” said Frome and Villages Bus Users Group (FAVBUG) founder, Tracey Harding.
Faresaver also operates a weekday, daytime-only X67 service that goes to Sainsbury’s but this timetabling change by First will allow evening and weekend shoppers to travel by bus to Sainsbury’s Frome.
It is understood that the change was prompted both by bus passenger requests and by operational issues over parked cars on the current routing, especially in the evenings.
This will mean that all First’s 267 services go to Sainsbury’s and their new route will go via The Butts and Critchill Road Westover.
The 267 will no longer go along Weymouth Road. The 267 will now follow a similar route through Frome to that taken by the Faresaver X67, except First’s 267 also goes via the Frome Community Hospital.
