Members of the Frome Lions Club have been wearing new Santa suits as they travel around town this December, kindly made by the Frome Shed group.
The group made three costumes for the Frome Lions to wear whilst they walk with the Frome Lions and Rotary Santa Float, which raises funds for local causes.
Lion, Mike Geake said, “The main needleworkers were Liz Coates, Val Whelan, Jacqui Hiscocks and Marlene Bradshaw. These ladies spent many hours making the three costumes and the Frome Lions Santas should be very comfortable wearing them.
“The Lions would like to thank them for the time and energy they have given to make these costumes that will ensure that Santa looks his/her best for many years to come.”
The Frome ‘Shedders’ meet on a Monday and a Thursday from 9am to 1pm. They meet to make things for themselves and for the wider community, such as woodwork or textiles or whatever they would like to do.
Mike added, “Anyone is welcome to drop in for a cup of tea and see what they do at the Welshmill Hub, Park Hill Drive, Frome BA11 2LE.”
