FROME Town Council is working with a number of local businesses and community organisations to provide residents with lots of opportunities to ‘grow on your street’, starting with Incredible Edible’s Seed Swap.
The town council report, “On 20th March between 11am-3pm residents are invited to pick-up seeds.
“To allow for social distancing, there will be three-minute slots. Each person will be abe to choose five packs of seeds on a first served basis and any remaining seed packets will be donated to community growing projects.”
Cllr Lizzie Boyle said, “Whether you’re a gardening expert or a growing novice it’s really simple, and totally free, to get involved. So, come along pick up some seeds and then get growing in your garden, on windowsills or in your allotment. It’s great for the environment, your physical health and wellbeing and fingers crossed you’ll end up with some delicious fruit, veggies and herbs.”
Organiser of the seed swap, Caroline Wajsblum from Incredible Edible said, “Although it is a shame that we can’t be at the Cheese & Grain as usual, we’re really pleased to be working with Frome Town Council to ensure these seeds find a home in a Covid 19-safe way.”
So, before you spend lots of money on packets of seeds, book a slot and see what’s on offer at Frome’s Seed Swap Pick Up.
