TO celebrate the first year since the coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla, a new tree was planted in one of the gaps in Oakfield Academy’s long-established boundary of trees overlooking the Mendip Hills.
“We lost one of the horse chestnut trees in a storm, so this anniversary was the perfect opportunity to replace it,” said the academy. “Pupils chosen to plant the tree with Miss Wilkes and Acorn, the academy dog, who all had birthdays at this time, were Mason Cooper, Herbie Whiting, Beatrice Baines and Oleander Diniz-Sanchez.”
