Two local wine and gin lovers have turned their hobby into a business and opened a new shop in Frome.
Givino opened at the weekend at Marshall Way on Commerce Park and offers over 300 wines, along with an impressive range of ports, gins, sherries and liqueurs.
“Quite simply, Givino is here to bring together a collection of quality, affordable wines and gins,” said Robbie and Jamie Lymer.
“We are passionate wine and gin lovers, especially for Spanish, Portuguese and English produce and carefully select the wines ourselves and sample and rate them before stocking them.
“We spend a lot of time researching so that we can provide the best wines on the market for the right price.
“Our gin range is growing steadily, specialising in small and quality producers. You’ll even find a dedicated selection of ports available, having been to Portugal sampling before we buy.
“We launched Givino online last year and are delighted now to open our shop in Frome, sharing our love of wines, gins and port with local people.
“Our aim is to help people discover wines, gins and ports that they will love and be a guide for all things wine and gin related.”
The shop is at R18 Marshall Way, Frome Commerce Park, BA11 2FE with plenty of free parking outside.

Robbie and Jamie are already well-known business people Frome; Robbie at the family business Oakville Care Centre in Badcox and Jamie who set up his own IT company, Geeking IT Simple, in 2014.
“My wine journey takes me back to a trip to Australia in 2016 where I experienced a vineyard for the first time, and I was hooked from the start!” said Robbie. “After spending much time in Menorca, a passion for Spanish wines and a newly found love of gins grew. I knew that this would lead to greater things and here I am doing something that I enjoy!”
Jamie added, “Robbie and I have always spoken about starting our own wine and gin company, and in September 2022, we decided to form Givino.
“My palate has changed quite a bit over the years, from sweet young reds, to now enjoying full bodied reds and whites. Some of my favourite varieties are Syrah, Tempranillo and Albariño. I am at my most content when we are sat at a vineyard sampling their produce, or when we take trips to London to sample wines for our stock lists.
“We enjoy learning as we go along and are taking wines courses to build our knowledge.
“We have both also come to appreciate gin over the years, and we will be working hard to make sure we have on offer some of the best wines, gins and ports our selected countries have to offer.”
