AWARD winning Newland Homes, who developed in Portway, Frome during 2011, could be set to make a return soon.
The Cheltenham-based company held a well-attended public consultation recently in the town to get local views on a planned new homes development on the site of the old Avon and Somerset Police Station on Oakfield Road.
The event included a full display of the housing development plans and also the opportunity for local residents to discuss with the Newland Homes design team about all aspects of the housing scheme plan and to express their views and opinions.
The preliminary plans on show from Newland Homes at the consultation event presented a well-landscaped development of some 64 properties. A ‘mix’ of house types and styles is planned for the new development, with generous parking to be included.
Newland Homes’ design director Jeremy Drew explained, “Our consultation exercise was worthwhile for both ourselves and the local residents and I thank everyone for their polite interest, views and ideas.
“Newland Homes value the views and opinions of local residents as it is important to us to get the right scheme for the local authorities and those living in and around the communities where we build.”
With some time to go before a formal planning application is submitted, Newland welcome any further comments. The proposed plan can be viewed at www.newlandhomes.co .uk/land/planning
