The Black Swan Guild has been established as part of the Black Swan Arts’ commitment to nurture and showcase high-quality work from the widest possible range of artists and craftspeople.
The Guild will also celebrate the rich history of Arts and Crafts and the Black Swan Arts building itself through our heritage.
The first round of applications aimed to recruit the foundation members of the Guild who will help to shape the initial emergence of the Guild. Quality of work took precedence over other factors such as qualifications, experience, status and geographic location.
The founding members of the Guild include artists working in painting, sculpture, jewellery, textiles, ceramics, print-making and etching. They will be hosting their first exhibition in the Round Tower at the Black Swan Arts from 4th-25th May. There will be a preview evening on Friday 3rd May from 6-8pm – everyone is welcome.
