YOUNGSTERS in year 5/6 at Oakfield Academy have been busy supporting the RSPB 2018 bird watch.
Dawn Warren said, “Over 37kgs of bird seed was collected by year 5 pupils, Charlie Brooks, Kayne McDonald and Sam Sandy.
“The children will be making bird feeders and counting the number of different varieties of wild birds that visit their gardens, and the school grounds.
“Congratulations also go to Joshua Moyse and Joshua Honnor, both in year 5, for making a wonderful bird feeder at home. No doubt many wild birds will be tempted to feed from this cracking creation.
“All of the pupils are hoping to spot a wide variety of birds.”
The academy has thanked Mole Valley Farmers for their support.
