Two members of staff from Oakfield Academy that took part in a blisteringly hot London Marathon on Sunday 22nd April.
Pupils support advisor, Zoe McAlpine and assistant headteacher, David McGrath, both completed the 26.2 mile course. Zoe McAlpine’s time was 4 hours 55 minutes and David McGrath finished in a time of 5 hours and 9 minutes.
Both said the experience was fantastic, very emotional and one that they will never forget and are already considering entering the 2019 Marathon!
The school reports, “Everybody at Oakfield Academy would like to say how incredibly proud they are of them both.”
