LUCKY pupils at a local school have been awarded 31 Olympics’ tickets after showing their commitment to sport.
Pupils at Selwood Academy were handed tickets to the opening event of the London 2012 Olympics, Great Britain vs New Zealand women’s football in Cardiff and Japan vs South Africa women’s football match. Both events have now taken place.
The tickets were awarded to Selwood Academy after pupils promoted the London 2012 Olympic games with their own version of the Olympic games last month. Teaching staff at Selwood Academy handed out the tickets to sporting youngsters, and their families, who are involved with local sporting organisations.
Suzanne Westlake, from Selwood Academy said, “It’s a fantastic way to reward the pupils, they’re absolutely delighted. It also recognises the commitment that the school has put into sporting events.”
