ONE Voice Community Choir is celebrating this month as it reaches a milestone anniversary.
The One Voice group of choirs began at North Bradley, Wiltshire on 8th November 2013, when around 25 people turned out for the initial meeting. Expansion began the following year, in Frome and Devizes and then in 2016, the Melksham singers first convened, followed by Westbury in 2022.
“I began planning the choir after several years of being prompting by friends,” said choir leader Lee Ingram. “I saw the need for community-based choirs catering for non-readers of music, wanting to sing pop tunes and show songs in a fun and relaxed environment. We are always happy to hear from new members, regardless of age or ability.
“Current classes run on Monday evening (Westbury), Tuesday morning (Devizes), Wednesday afternoon (Frome) and Thursday evening (Melksham). Anyone who loves to sing is encouraged to join – there are no auditions and nothing to lose but your inhibitions … it’s fun, friendly and feel-good!”
