ANYONE wishing to join in Frome’s World Record attempt for the largest gathering of people dressed as Wizard of Oz characters can now register online for free.
Registration is now available online as well as in paper form after an online service was launched last week.
Frome’s Guinness World Record attempt will take place on Sunday 13th July as part of the Frome Festival as participants will have a chance to help create Frome’s own Yellow Brick Road and break the record of 446 people dressed as characters from the Wizard of Oz.
Those wishing to take part are being urged to sign up quickly. Organiser Martyn Payne said, “It is great that people can now register online and it is very easy and quick to do so. On top of that, it is free to register online but we do ask for a suggested donation of £1 on the day.
“We need people to sign up early so we can have an idea of numbers on the day – so come on Frome, help us break a world record!”
To register online and for further details visit the official website www.fun to dressup.co.uk. You will also be able to register at the Carnival Fun Day this coming Saturday 7th of June (between 12.00pm and 4.00pm). Look out for Dorothy and her friends at Victoria Park as they circulate amongst the crowds!
Registration forms can also be picked up from Absolutely Fabulous Costume Hire at 20 Bath Street, Kumon Frome Study Centre at 4 Palmer Street and Millie Moon in Catherine Hill. Alternatively send a stamped address envelope to World Record c/o Frome Times, 31 Market Place, Melksham, Wiltshire. SN12 6ES
All entrants MUST be registered and be instantly recognisable as a character from the Wizard of Oz, so please register now to avoid disappointment. Visit the web site www.funtodressup. co.uk for great ideas!
