Frome Heritage Museum (BA11 1AT), hosts an open day on Saturday 29th July from 10am as part of the Festival of British Archaeology.
“Come to see our ‘Curious, More Curious and Most Curious’ displays, talks and identifications,” says the museum’s head of trustees, Dr Emma Jane Robinson.
“Please bring any items you have found or dug up and would like identified or learn more about. Experts will be on hand throughout the day to examine your treasures. We’re particularly interested in coins and medals or any antiques found in local gardens and fields.
“There’s also a chance to meet our special guests including Dave Crisp who discovered the Frome Hoard, and Laura Burnett of the Portable Antiquities Scheme in Somerset. They will be here from late morning to 3pm.”
The museum is normally open from Tuesday to Saturday and on Market Sundays, 10am to 2pm. Free entry, but donations are always appreciated.
