THE Frome based nature and wildlife group for people living with dementia and their carers is holding an open Wild Memories session on Wednesday 17th May at their new plot at the Welshmill Allotments site.
Wild Memories sessions are for anyone living with dementia or experiencing memory loss, or anyone else affected by these conditions such as carers and loved ones. The sessions include relaxed activities such as gardening and nature appreciation and offer a chance to get together with others over a cup of tea and biscuits.
Zak from the charity Froglife which run the project said, “We’ve had a great spring so far at the allotment plot. We built some new raised beds to make the garden more accessible, and we’ve been planting all kinds of flower and vegetable seeds which are coming on really nicely. Our allotment sessions are ideal to get back into gardening, to learn something new, or just to sit somewhere beautiful amongst wildlife and friends.”
The open day will be held at Welshmill Allotments on 17th May from 2 to 4pm as part of Dementia Action Week. Call Zak on 07949 572849 or email zak.mathergratton@froglife.org for more information.
