LOCAL learning disability charity, Open Storytellers, received a grant of £2,000 from the Frome Community Lottery at a special presentation last month.
Clemma Fleat, Katie Branch and Robin Meader accepted the cheque on behalf of Open Storytellers, and the money will be put towards its move into a new dedicated centre in Frome later this year.
Frome Community Lottery was set up in order to help develop community facilities for the people of Frome and the surrounding villages.
It does this by giving grants to local organisations using money that comes directly from local people who have joined the community lottery.
With a chance to win prizes of up to £25,000, members pay a weekly £1 stake, of which 50% comes straight back to Frome to spend on local projects.
The Lottery can be joined by picking up a form from Frome Library, or visiting the website at www.unitylottery.co.uk/charity/display/Frome-Community-Trust
