THIS year’s Frome Operation Christmas Child Shoebox appeal is under way, which aims to collect and send a special shoebox of gifts to vulnerable children and families around the world in time for Christmas.
Jean Fraser from the organisation said “We understand many of the boxes will be going to Ukraine and countries nearby who have supported them. The collection receives support from the churches, schools, and other organisations.”
Empty boxes, at 50p each, can be collected from both Frome Valley Cleaners shops in the town or from most of the local churches. Also, to raise funds, there is a Bring and Buy Sale/Kindness Coffee Morning at Wesley Methodist Church, on Saturday,15th October from 10.00am until 12.00 noon. If you have any items that you wish to donate, then contributions will be very welcome. They will be setting up on the evening of Friday 14th October from 6.30pm, or items can be brought in on the day. Anything left over contributions will go to the various charity shops in town.
