THE Ladies section of Orchardleigh Golf Club held their AGM this month at the clubhouse.
On behalf of the Ladies section, Sarah Doble reports, “Sonia Probert reported on her enjoyable two years as captain and thanked everyone who had helped during her time in office. As she pointed out, her first year, 2020, was very much thwarted by Covid and lockdown restrictions, but this year as from May, most competitions and matches were able to take place.
“This was followed by reports from the other committee members and the various team captains. Sonia then introduced Anne Carpenter as the new lady captain and Loes de Kleuver as her vice captain. Anne said that Sonia would be a hard act to follow.
“Other new officers elected onto the committee were Christine Arnold as treasurer, Diana Bullock as competitions secretary. Sue Chalker remains as secretary and Anne Regler remains as handicap secretary. Carol Jenkins, Sue Sweet and Lin Handley were all newly elected as extra committee members.
“After the meeting was closed the winners of the monthly Medal and Stableford competitions for 2021 were presented with their prizes.
“They are as follows: Medal winners: Diana Bullock, Mary Ford (2), Christina Francis, Sarah Hynds, Ann James, Pat Jones, Anne Regler, Nadine Stock.
“Stableford winners: Christine Arnold, Diana Bullock, Loes de Kleuver, Sarah Hynds, Ann James, Sue Marshall, Gail Painter, Sonia Probert, Anne Regler, Nadine Stock, Marion Underhill.
“9 Hole Stableford winners: Mollie Stebbings (2), Sue Dicken.”
