FROME carer Diane Scudamore has won a major care award in recognition of her dedication and compassion.
Diane was named runner-up in the Care Focus Care Awards (South West) 2013 at a glamorous ceremony in Taunton. She works at Rossetti House on Welshmill Lane and was nominated by home manager Mark Barnes in the Outstanding Ancillary Care category.
Diane said she was stunned to win the award and said her success was all down to the team spirit in the home. She said, “It is such an honour to receive this award, it was completely unexpected.
“I love working at Rossetti House and getting the opportunity to care for our lovely residents. The team here is fantastic and are all award winners in my eyes.
“The actual awards ceremony was very exciting, I took my daughter along with me – it was just like the Oscars!”
Home manager Mark Barnes said he had nominated Diane because she bought so much happiness to the home. He said, “Diane always has her smile on her face and helps create such a positive atmosphere here at Rossetti House.
“Her compassion and understanding of what our residents need is first class and she richly deserves this award.”
Diane accepted her gong at the Care Focus Care Awards at Wellsprings Leisure Centre in Taunton.
Finalists were selected from over 225 nominations from across the private, independent, voluntary and public, health and social care organisations.
