Frome is hosting a week of events to celebrate all things Frome and to encourage everyone to have their say and get involved in projects across the town.
From 2nd to 9th November, activities will include ‘The Great Frome Clean Up’, a fund-raising workshop, a Frugal Fine Diner and a chance to see behind the scenes at the Memorial Theatre.
Look out for the Participate Frome postcards which will be available across the town for you to fill in and tell Participate Frome what is your favourite thing in Frome and why and what one thing would you like to change and how.
Get on your soapbox
Residents are invited to ‘Get on their Soapbox’ with five minute slots to talk about ‘My Frome’, ‘A Day in the Life of Me’, ‘My Favourite Thing in Frome and Why’, ‘The One Thing that I Would Like to Change and How’ – at the mobile soapbox which will be around town on market days.
Pop Up Shop
Or why not come and join in the Participate Frome Pop Up Shop in the Westway precinct which will host a number of organisations over the week who would like to hear from you?
Frome Town Council will be consulting on town budgetting and the Neighbourhood Plan, The Frome Carnival Club will have a display of photos and they and the Volunteer Bureau will have lists of volunteering opportunities across the town.
Participate Frome will be holding a one-day seminar for everyone interested in working together to increase participation in projects and issues in the town.
Frome Job Club and Frome OpenStory Tellers will be hosting open mornings and if you have a long-term health condition, come along to this friendly, informal peer support group. They meet on the first Monday of every month, with the next meeting on 4th November, 1.00pm-3.00pm at the Canoe Club, next to the Cheese and Grain.
Murals
Throughout the week the team will be out and about creating a series of murals that put all of your thoughts and ideas into a picture that tells the story of the conversations and ideas that are generated. Look out for the team outside school gates and supermarkets for your opportunity to have your say.
