A SPECIAL week-long event is being organised by Frome Town Council to encourage local communities to get more involved with their town and everything that goes on within it. And the town council is searching for a community-spirited person who would like to take on the planning of the exciting new project.
During the Participate Frome! week, which will be held in November, there will be a wide range of events throughout the town which could include things like a community fair, town meeting, world cafes and ‘on your soapbox’ on street corners. Everyone will be invited to meet new people, get involved and have their say on how their town works.
Sarah Hobbs, community projects officer explained, “In order to get the most out of the event, we are looking for a creative and dynamic individual to plan, set up and oversee a high profile week of participatory events. If you have the enthusiasm and ideas to set up and run Participate Frome November 2013, we want to hear from you.”
A project brief and more information about Participate Frome! week can be obtained through the website: www. frome-tc.gov.uk/news or contact Jackie Wheeler for an informal discussion on 01373 475577. To apply for this position, send in a CV and covering letter outlining your ideas for creating an exciting and engaging participation week.
The deadline for applications is 5.00pm on Tuesday 20th August.
