“Sadly there are still horrendous wars throughout the world, but it is also true that there are people involved in bold initiatives for peace .
“On Nov 22nd Frome Friends of Palestine will be showing the documentary “Disturbing the Peace” in St Catherine’s Church Hall, Park Road Frome. BA11 1EU Film starts 7.30pm, entry by donation and refreshments available.
“This film is the story of people born into conflict, sworn to be enemies, who took extraordinary actions and challenged their fate, challenged the narratives of fear and hate. It tells of former enemy combatants, Israeli soldiers from elite forces and Palestinian fighters who have joined together to say “Enough”. It follows their journeys from soldiers committed to battle, to non-violent peace activists.
“Now Members of Combatants for Peace, they are deeply involved in non-violent resistance in an effort to end the occupation and secure freedom and peace for both Israelis and Palestinians.”
