Black Swan Arts is moving into an exciting new phase with more exhibition spaces, and is on the lookout for volunteers to help run the organisation.
There are now three different exhibition spaces with a variety of work changing every month or two, the Main Gallery upstairs, the Round Tower and Diva’s café. There is always something new to see and explore, with studios where you can watch people at work, to SEED gift shop and Diva’s café with its beautiful courtyard area.
Emma Warren of Black Swan Arts said, “Don’t miss ‘The Mayor’s Chains’ exhibition currently on display in the Round Tower until Saturday 30th May; this unique celebration of Frome’s fantastic community.
“Black Swan Arts is also open for the Frome Independent Market on the first Sunday of every month, with a special Art Market in the Round Tower. On Sunday 7th June at 12.00 midday, there is a free event with the artist Dan Hampson, who has an exhibition upstairs in the Main Gallery.
“The Round Tower can also be hired for workshops, courses and children’s activities at just £10 an hour or £60 per day.
“Black Swan Arts centre is open Monday – Saturday, for individual opening hours please check our website www.blackswan.org.uk for details.
“There is still no funding for arts organisations at a national and regional level, it’s all down to local generosity and substantial time given each week by a team of dedicated volunteers, stewards, programming group and trustees.
“However, we desperately need more volunteers to share the load, especially stewards in the gallery and behind the scenes work in the office.”
