UK Poet Laureate Simon Armitage is set to bring his acclaimed live music and poetry group LYR to Frome later this year.
The three-piece group will perform at the Cheese & Grain on Wednesday 2nd December. LYR features Simon alongside producer and multi-instrumentalist Patrick Pearson and Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Richard Walters.
Blending spoken-word poetry with atmospheric electronics and melodic songwriting, the trio have developed a distinctive sound that crosses genres and explores a wide range of themes.
The performance forms part of the group’s most extensive UK tour to date, following a series of sell-out shows in recent years, a widely praised appearance at the BBC Proms in 2025 and the release of two critically acclaimed albums. Their latest tour will include material from their forthcoming album, Dark Sky Reservation.
