FROME’S Police Enquiry Office at Frome Library will be closed until mid-March whilst work is carried out to improve the energy efficiency of the building.
However, police have reassured residents that this will not affect the number of neighbourhood police officers and PCSOs working in the community.
The work, which started on 31st January and will take 6 weeks to complete, is being undertaken by Somerset County Council.
Neighbourhood Inspector, Elaine Costanza said, “The Police Enquiry Office at Frome Library will be closed to the public from 31st January until 14th March while Somerset County Council carry out work to improve the energy efficiency of the building.
“Members of the public can still visit us at alternative nearby enquiry office locations in Radstock, Shepton Mallet and Bath during the work if needed.
“These plans will not affect the number of neighbourhood police officers and PCSOs in the area who will still be working in the neighbourhood, continuing to deliver policing services for the population of Frome from the heart of the community.”
