A new Frome convenience store has celebrated its launch with a donation to Positive Action on Cancer.
Melissa Hillier, director of Positive Action on Cancer, was the guest of honour when the new Tesco Express store on Forest Road recently opened, and she was invited to cut a ribbon and declare the new store officially open.
As part of the opening celebrations, store manager, Elaine Friendship and her team presented Positive Action on Cancer with a cheque for £500. The store chose to donate to the charity as part of its commitment to supporting the local community.
Positive Action on Cancer (PAC) is a free professional one-to-one counselling service for anyone affected by a diagnosis of cancer or another life threatening illness.
Tesco Express store manager Elaine said, “We were delighted to be able to support Positive Action on Cancer as it does such fantastic work for those living in the Frome community. We are so pleased that Melissa came to open the new store and join in the celebrations with us.”
Melissa said, “I would like to thank Tesco for this generous donation. This money will go towards providing counselling sessions for children, young people and adults affected by cancer and other life threatening conditions.”
Elaine added, “We are really enjoying meeting our new customers and we hope that Tesco will become a key part of the local community.”
Store opening hours are Monday to Saturday from 7.00am until 11.00pm, and 7.00am to 10.00pm on Sundays. For added convenience the store has a free cash machine, self-service tills, Click & Collect, mobile phone top-up facility, National Lottery counter, Costa Coffee facilities, in addition to a bakery, beers, wines and spirits.
