A WEEK of events held across Frome’s pubs to raise money for charity has been hailed a success by the town’s Mayor.
Cllr Nick White, who organised a week of traditional pub events that all culminated in a pub crawl, has helped raise hundreds of pounds for charity, with more money still coming in. Cllr White said, “It went really well, I’m delighted that we were joined by mayors from Westbury, Bradford-on-Avon, Calne and Trowbridge and they all enjoyed the pubs in Frome. “The week was about promoting all the pubs in Frome and I’m pleased to say there has been a lot of positive feedback. The aim was to raise funds for the Mayor’s charities. We’ve counted about £600 so far, but once all the cash has come in, it should be quite a substantial amount. “It wasn’t your run-of-the-mill fundraiser, but it was very well supported and I’d like to thank everyone that came along and all the pubs involved.”
