FROME Town Council is hosting a public meeting to discuss the alternative planning application made by Mayday Saxonvale Development Ltd for the Saxonvale site.

The meeting will be held on Thursday 2nd December from 7.00pm – 8.30pm at Frome Town Hall and attendees can join online or in person.
The Mayday plan is an alternative to the plan from Acorn Property Group which has already been given planning permission by Mendip District Council.
The town council says, “Mayday Saxonvale has submitted an outline application for the Saxonvale site in Frome and this is open for comment on the Mendip Planning Portal. Their alternative masterplan offers a mixed-use regeneration proposal comprising of a town centre extension, with employment space, a primary school, distinctive residential neighbourhoods, and the preservation and reuse of historic structures and buildings.
“This meeting is an opportunity for residents and businesses to engage with the applicants and for FTC to hear the views of the community which will help to inform FTC’s formal response to the application.”
At the meeting the proposals will be presented by: • Stories (development partner) – Richard Meier, Paul Clark, James Scott • Mayday Saxonvale – Paul Oster, Damon Moore • Andrew Kirby Architects – Andrew Kirby • StudioSaar – Jonny Buckland • Landstory – Simon Brown
Following the presentation there will be an opportunity to ask questions.
